Jamie Parks Donates Contest Winnings To ICA
Jamie Parks has generously asked to donate his $50 prize to the Internet Commerce Association. Done.
For those that are unfamiliar with the ICA, it’s a non-profit group that represents domain investors and developers. They’re fighting for us and what we do.
They accept donations. But you can also join as an Associate Member for $295 annually, with additional more expensive, and involved, memberships available. I know this fee is not feasible for most people. And I won’t say that you need to join it without having done so myself. I will say that I will be joining them when I can and perhaps you should consider it as well, when you can.
In fact, if any of you are in a generous enough mood to speed up the process for me and purchase the domain I have listed for sale in the right column, I’ll sign up as an Associate Member immediately and donate an additional $700 to the ICA. Just saying
Again, thanks Jamie for participating and generously offering your prize to the ICA.
Proof That The Good Domains Aren’t All Gone
There were many submissions for the motto contest and I want to thank everyone for their comment and email entries. I narrowed the field down to 13 mottos. I would have been completely satisfied with any of these, but there was one that I thought did a little more to describe this blog than the others.
Proof That The Good Domains Aren’t All Gone
I liked this one because it offered a point of view of what this blog is about that the name TrendDomaining.com didn’t already imply.
It was submitted by Jamie Parks of Domainer Developer. And I’ll likely take his advice, too, in rotating my motto somewhere down the line (because this motto suggests only hand registers). But for now this one will be excellent.
Jamie, please send me your paypal address and I’ll be speedy on the prize.
I was a little disappointed in the DigitalPoint forums. A few days after posting the contest there, my $50 motto contest had 2 replies and about 40 views. A $5 logo contest had 15 replies and over 100 views. Go figure.
Here is a list of my other 12 favorites:
- Setting the trend for the domains to come
- The Next Generation of Generic Domains
- Predicting The Domains of Tomorrow
- Researching The Domains of Tomorrow
- Pioneering Domain Name Research
- Helping Make Trends Pay For Domainers
- Ultimate domain consultancy
- Discovering Tommorrow’s Top Domains, Today
- F.orgreat domaining .info .come and visit .us on the .net <– nifty!
- In search of the next big domains
- Pulse Of Domains
- Earn more money off domain flipping by following the trends
Again, many thanks to everyone that took the time to enter into this contest. It is much appreciated.
TrendDomaining.com Contest To Celebrate 3 Months
So I wake up this morning, exactly 3 months to the day since I started this blog, and see a few hits coming in from Mark at DotSauce. Thanks Mark!
Though this blog has been around for 3 months, 60 posts later I feel it’s not getting out to everyone that may be interested in it. The unique hits aren’t impressive by any means (especially after reading certain domaining blogger’s numbers, this blog is minuscule). What is impressive is that when someone visits TrendDomaining.com they stick around, view multiple pages and ultimately return. So that tells me that I need to get the word out more. More on this later.
The feedback has been excellent. Neal Voron of Fractional Domaining posted a full review of TrendDomaining.com. This came after his 4-part interview with me. Please check it out if you haven’t already done so.
Here is what people have been saying about TrendDomaining.com:
“I have found that Scott’s blog postings are always eye-opening and interesting to read. His fresh and unique content truly sets him apart from many other domain industry bloggers!” - Neal Voron - Fractional Domaining
“Inspiring and informative blog” - Mark Fulton - DotSauce
“Trend Domaining features highly recommended editorials” - Mark Fulton - DotSauce
“You’re always at the top of your game… thanks for the thoughtful posts” - Jamie Parks - Domainer Developer
“Yet again very inspiring, that’s why your on my blogroll, your blog deserves attention; you obviously put a lot of thought and time in.” - Marcus Mercer - DomainingUK
“I get a lot of insight out of your blog and really enjoy reading your views.” - Kelly Lieberman - IBuyThe.com
Thanks for the compliments guys! If anyone has any suggestions or criticism, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or email.
Back to me finding ways to get the word out, I’m holding a small contest:
TrendDomaining.com Contest
TrendDomaining.com needs a catchphrase; a little motto that I can put on the header, or in advertising. Only a couple of rules to follow:
- Obviously, the motto needs to help sell what I’m blogging about.
- As far as length goes, I’m leaning towards short (under 6 words) but if a longer one sounds great then I’ll absolutely run with it.
- You can submit as many as you’d like.
- The winner will be chosen by me one week from today: August 24th. I’ll post the winner here on my blog, contact them via email (if you leave one) and PM them if they found this through a messageboard)
- The prize: $50 USD winner take all. I will transfer via Paypal only.
- You can submit your entries by commenting to this post, or send an email to scott at trendomaining dot com.
I know this won’t pay many bills, but all I want is a motto.
And if you have a blog/site and enjoy reading TrendDomaining.com, then all I can ask for is a little love pointing towards this contest/post. Thanks!
