About
4 months after starting TrendDomaining.com, I figured I would redo my about page.
About TrendDomaining.com
This blog is about world news and trends and how they can be applied to the domain industry, and not about actual domain trends such as LLLL.coms or call-to-action domains.
TrendDomaining.com was created to put my hours of news and trend research to additional use by sharing it with the domain community. Whether it be real estate trends, alternative energy or even Japanese electronics, I love to read about it.
What will you find on TrendDomaining.com?
- New ideas for domain names.
- New ideas for mini-sites.
- New Ideas for niche sites.
- New Ideas for affiliate sites.
- New ideas for full blown sites.
- A strong focus on geodomains.
- Tools that I’ve personally used and vouch for.
- Unique content written by me and not paid copywriters (with occasional guest post).
- 99% of content is full articles and not a link with a two sentence editorial.
What will you not find on TrendDomaining.com?
- General domaining news that you can find on all the other domaining sites.
- Me endorsing tools and other crap that I never tried or dislike just to make an affiliate sale.
- Ads everywhere. You may see one here and there, after all this is a business and we all want to make money, but you will not be bombarded with them.
- Poor grammar and lack of spellcheck. I don’t have perfect grammar or elite writing skills, but my stuff is at least readable. I also know the difference between they’re, their and there.
About Me
I am Joe Domainer. I am just like every other guy that frequents NamePros or DNForum. I’m not rich. I don’t own an island; I don’t even own a house. I leave for my blue collar job before 7 a.m. and don’t get back home until 7 p.m. And I squeeze in domaining and a blog when I can.
I was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1976. In 2003 I jumped ship from Detroit’s dying economy and moved to Houston, Texas to start over on life. Once Michigan’s economy returns, I’d love to go back. I have a wonderful wife who is fully supportive of my domaining activities.
I enjoy hard rock (favorite is Metallica), Neil Gaiman (favorite is American Gods), movies (favorite is Star Wars) and PC games (favorite is Monkey Island).
I’ve been domaining since the last quarter of 2007. The first domain I ever sold was a 7-year old that I picked up on TDNAM- yummy baskets dot com- and sold it for $55. That’s all it took for me to get hooked.
I started investing in geodomains as I completely buy into the value of these. I’m a member of NamePros and a platinum member of DNForum, and have sold some domains at both of them.
This blog was created so I can step up and become a more serious domainer than I previously was.
You can find much more about me and TrendDomaining.com by reading this four part interview done by Neal Voron of FractionalDomaining.com: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.
Thanks for taking he time to read about me,
Scott Griffes
